- Step 1: In a bowl, combine the white miso paste, sake, mirin, sugar, and soy sauce. Mix until smooth.
- Step 2: Place the black cod in a shallow dish and coat it with the miso mixture. Ensure the fish is evenly covered.
- Step 3: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 24 hours or up to 48 hours for deeper flavor.
- Step 4: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 5: Remove the fish from the marinade, gently wiping off any excess miso.
- Step 6: Place the fish on a lined baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Step 7: Serve immediately, garnished as desired.
Notes
Store any uneaten fish in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently warm it in the oven to maintain that lovely texture.
