Method
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). This high temperature is key for that puffiness!
- Step 2: Grease a popover pan or muffin tin with butter to ensure easy removal later.
- Step 3: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, and salt until smooth. You want a nice, lump-free batter.
- Step 4: Stir in the melted butter, giving it a good mix.
- Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about halfway.
- Step 6: Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- Step 7: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. I promise that waiting just a few minutes is worth it!
Notes
These popovers are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to bring back their fluffy texture. The strawberry butter can be kept in the fridge for up to a week.
