Ingredients

For the Popovers
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour This is the base for your fluffy popovers.
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk works best for that rich texture.
  • 3 large eggs These will help your popovers rise beautifully.
  • 1/2 tsp salt Just enough to enhance the flavors.
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter melted - This adds a touch of richness.
For the Strawberry Butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened (for the strawberry butter) - Make sure it's at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries pureed - Fresh strawberries bring a vibrant flavor.
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar This sweetens your strawberry butter perfectly.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract A dash of vanilla elevates the taste.

Equipment

  • Popover Pan or Muffin Tin
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Step 1: Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). This high temperature is key for that puffiness!
  2. Step 2: Grease a popover pan or muffin tin with butter to ensure easy removal later.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, milk, eggs, and salt until smooth. You want a nice, lump-free batter.
  4. Step 4: Stir in the melted butter, giving it a good mix.
  5. Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared pan, filling each cup about halfway.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 20 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  7. Step 7: Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. I promise that waiting just a few minutes is worth it!

Notes

These popovers are best enjoyed fresh, but if you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can reheat them in the oven for a few minutes to bring back their fluffy texture. The strawberry butter can be kept in the fridge for up to a week.
