Ingredients
  

  • 1 teaspoon loose green tea leaves or 1 green tea bag Choose high-quality tea for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup water Fresh spring water works wonders!
Optional additions
  • sweetener or lemon to taste

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Start by heating the water to a cozy temperature of about 160°F to 180°F (70°C to 80°C). Just remember, no boiling!
  2. Step 2: While the water is warming, place your green tea leaves or tea bag in your favorite teapot or cup.
  3. Step 3: Once the water is ready, pour it gently over the leaves or tea bag.
  4. Step 4: Let it steep for 2 to 3 minutes. If you like a stronger flavor, you can steep it a bit longer.
  5. Step 5: After steeping, remove the tea leaves or tea bag. You can use a strainer if you used loose leaves.
  6. Step 6: If you’re feeling fancy, add a touch of sweetener or a slice of lemon to elevate your tea experience. Then, enjoy your homemade Japanese green tea!

Notes

If you have leftover brewed green tea, store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. However, enjoy it fresh for the best flavor.
