For the Miso Soup
  • 4 cups water The base of your soup, providing a warm and comforting liquid.
  • 3 tbsp miso paste This fermented soybean paste adds depth of flavor.
  • 1 cup cubed tofu A wonderful source of protein that adds creaminess.
  • 1 cup chopped green onions Provides a fresh, mild onion flavor.
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms Add an earthy taste and texture.
  • 1 cup seaweed Gives a unique taste and is rich in nutrients.

Method
 

  1. Step 1: In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Step 2: Reduce the heat to low and add the sliced mushrooms. Simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. Step 3: In a small bowl, mix the miso paste with a few tablespoons of the hot broth until smooth.
  4. Step 4: Add the miso mixture back into the pot and stir well to combine.
  5. Step 5: Gently add the cubed tofu and seaweed, and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes until heated through.
  6. Step 6: Stir in the chopped green onions and any additional vegetables, cooking for another 2 minutes.
  7. Step 7: Serve hot and enjoy your cozy bowl of miso soup!

Notes

Leftover miso soup can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Add fresh green onions and tofu when reheating for the best texture and flavor.
