- Step 1: In a large pot, combine the oxtail and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 2 hours. Don’t forget to skim off any foam that rises to the surface!
- Step 2: After 2 hours, add the onion, garlic, ginger, carrots, and daikon radish to the pot. Keep simmering for another hour until the oxtail is tender and the vegetables are cooked through.
- Step 3: Stir in the fish cakes, soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Let it simmer for an additional 10-15 minutes to let those flavors mingle.
- Step 4: Season with salt to taste.
- Step 5: Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions. Enjoy every warm spoonful!
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For freezing, allow it to cool completely before transferring to freezer-safe containers.
