Ingredients

For the Yuzu Cha
  • 2 fruits yuzu
  • 1 cup honey or sugar to sweeten to your liking
  • 4 cups water for brewing

Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Pot
  • Knife

Method

  1. Step 1: Start by washing the yuzu fruits thoroughly. You want to make sure they are clean before cutting.
  2. Step 2: Cut the yuzu in half and remove the seeds. This step is crucial to avoid any bitterness.
  3. Step 3: Extract the juice from each yuzu half and set it aside. Don’t forget to scoop out the flesh too!
  4. Step 4: In a mixing bowl, combine the yuzu juice, the fleshy bits, and your choice of honey or sugar. Mix well until everything is fully blended.
  5. Step 5: In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium heat.
  6. Step 6: Once the water is boiling, add in the yuzu mixture and stir well to combine.
  7. Step 7: Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes. This will let all those lovely flavors meld together.
  8. Step 8: Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before serving.
  9. Step 9: Enjoy your Yuzu Cha warm, or chill it over ice for a refreshing drink!

Notes

Store any leftover Yuzu Cha in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Just give it a good stir before serving again, whether warm or chilled.
